Nalanda’s daughter was strangled to death by her in-laws in Patna. The incident took place in Alawalpur village of Gaurichak police station area. The deceased has been identified as Pooja Kumari (19), wife of Sachin Kumar, resident of Alawalpur village of Gaurichak police station area of Patna.
In-laws often used to beat me
Regarding the incident, police say that Sachin Kumar, resident of Alawalpur village of Gaurichak police station area of Patna, was married to Pooja Kumari, daughter of Dinanath Kumar, resident of Nalanda, on 5 May 2023. Pooja Kumari’s family members say that after marriage, Pooja Kumari’s in-laws often beat her. Many times people explained to her, but Pooja’s in-laws did not agree. Pooja’s family members say that on Sunday they received information that their daughter had died. As soon as everyone reached there after hearing the news of the death, their daughter’s body was found lying in the house. Family members allege that Pooja’s husband Sachin, her mother-in-law Gudiya Devi, father-in-law Shiv Pujan Ravidas and her siblings together strangled their daughter to death. Regarding the incident, Pooja’s husband Sachin says that he had gone out for a morning walk on Sunday morning. On returning home he saw that his wife Pooja Kumari had committed suicide by hanging herself.
Police engaged in investigation
Regarding the incident, Police Station Head Krishna Kumar said that a case of murder has been registered by Pooja’s family members. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and sent the body of the deceased newlywed to Nalanda Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. However, in this case, the in-laws of the newly married woman say that the girl has committed suicide. Police has started investigating the matter.
